Jakarta – The Faculty of Medicine of Pasundan University (FK UNPAS) has once again achieved a proud accomplishment at the national level. One of its lecturers, dr. Sofa Rahmannia, M.Kes (Nutrition), successfully won First Place in the Policy Brief category at the Evidence-Based Nutrition Policy Health Conference: Insights from the National Nutrition Survey (SSGI) 2024, organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Health. The prestigious event was held on Friday, December 19, 2025, in Jakarta, and was attended by academics, researchers, and health practitioners from various institutions across Indonesia. The conference served as a strategic national forum to strengthen the role of evidence-based research in the formulation of national health and nutrition policies. This achievement was earned through a policy brief entitled “Rebalancing the Plate for Breastfeeding Mothers: National Evidence for a More Impactful Revision of Isi Piringku,” which was highly rated by the panel of judges for its issue relevance, analytical depth, and practical policy contribution—particularly in supporting improvements to nutrition policies for breastfeeding mothers in Indonesia. The policy brief was developed using an evidence-based policy approach, drawing on data analysis from the 2024 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), one of the most comprehensive national data sources in the field of public nutrition. Through this study, the authors presented strategic recommendations that can be directly utilized by policymakers to refine the Isi Piringku guidelines, making them more responsive to the nutritional needs of breastfeeding mothers. The success of dr. Sofa Rahmannia and her cross-institutional team reflects the strategic role of academics in bridging scientific knowledge with public decision-making processes, while also reaffirming FK UNPAS’s commitment to advancing research that is not only academically excellent but also has a tangible impact on public health development. The Dean and the entire academic community of the Faculty of Medicine, Pasundan University, expressed their appreciation and pride for this achievement. It is hoped that this accomplishment will inspire lecturers and students to continue developing evidence-based research that is solution-oriented and directly contributes to national health policy. The Faculty of Medicine of Pasundan University remains committed to encouraging the production of scientific work that is ethical, relevant, and sustainable, as part of the university’s strategic contribution to realizing public policies that are more equitable, healthy, and future-oriented for the nation.
